  • Zinc Oxide

WHAT IT DOES:

Zinc Oxide offers a safe, non-irritating, broad-spectrum protection against the ageing and damaging effects of UVA and UVB rays.  Has long been used as a primary topical agent in protecting against skin damage from the UVA and UVB rays of the sun. A common ingredient in many skin soothing salves and creams, Zinc oxide is hailed for its anti-inflammatory and skin conditioning properties.

HOW IT WORKS:

Zinc oxide is created when zinc and oxygen are thermally combined.  This process forms a white powder that lays on the surface of the skin as a protective covering against UV radiation.  This slightly occlusive effect see this ingredient sealing moisture in the skin helping to soothe and soften the skin and prevent inflammation from erupting.
