Coined from the fusing of the terms cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, Cosmeceuticals are cosmetic products that contain biologically active ingredients that are defined as having a drug-like or medical effect when applied. These effects include changing the way skin cells behave the impact they have on the structures and functions of your skin. The use of cosmeceuticals is intended for achieving optimal skin health, not beautification.
Ingredients such as Hydroxy Acids, Retinol, peptides, stems cells and sunscreens are some of, but not limited to, ingredients classed as having a cosmeceutical effect on the skin. These are the class of ingredients that will optimise the health of your skin for the long-term.
